Reach the campus
Change the nation
Can you imagine what would happen if every single university student in Indonesia had the opportunity to hear the Gospel? How would the nation be transformed? There is no more strategic mission field than the university campus. Students are hungry for truth, searching for purpose, and looking for community. We have a unique opportunity to meet students at such a pivotal time in their life, when they are deciding who they will be for the rest of their lives, and introduce them to Jesus and the good news of the kingdom of God.

Imagine what would happen if a whole generation of Indonesian university students was transformed by the love of Jesus.

MY STORY
From the campus to the nations
I had no intention of being a missionary. I did not even want to be a Christian, but as I sat in my university dorm room, my suitcase still unpacked, I had never felt more alone. As the weeks progressed, I became so lost and hungry for community. Later in the semester I was invited to a Bible study on my campus. Afterwards the student leader asked to meet up for coffee and began to disciple me. My doubts, questions, and struggles were not pushed aside, but addressed. The student leader walked alongside me as I processed transitions, grief, adulthood, faith, and my future. By the end of my freshman year, I knew I would follow Jesus anywhere He sent me. I made Him the Lord of my life. Three years later, after graduating with a degree in music, I knew I needed more time to grow in my new faith. I signed up for an internship with my college ministry (Chi Alpha) and discovered a deep love for college students. I wanted to reach people in the same way I had been reached. At the same time, the Lord began to stir my heart for unreached people groups and cross-cultural missions. I was confused, "Hadn't the Lord made it clear that I was supposed to work with college students?" In January 2017, the Lord showed me that it was both, that I was called to reach the unreached people groups in Indonesia through college ministry (Chi Alpha). It has been seven years since I heard that call - six since I moved to Indonesia - and I thank God every day for the opportunity to reach university students with His love.

WHAT WE DO

ENGLISH CENTER
International English Center
Our English center is our first method of outreach. We offer professional, high level English courses to university students. We also offer a free, English conversation class three days a week with a native speaker, which is an easy, comfortable learning environment for beginners. Every student receives an invitation to our Friday night English community (Chi Alpha) where we dive deeper into faith and friendship.
CHI ALPHA JOGJA
Fun, Friendship, and Faith
Every Friday night, about 100 university students gather at our English Center for a night of games, food, deep conversation, and teachings on topics of faith and how to live an abundant life. The conversations go as deep as the students want, and it is not uncommon to see students crying, hugging, and praying for one another over the course of the night. We often say, "Students come for the English, but stay for the friendship."

English Worship
A church for all people
Several years ago, our student leaders approached us and asked if they could start a Sunday night prayer meeting. Years later, this prayer meeting has developed into a full-fledged church. The name of our church is English Worship and we are one of the few international churches in the city of Jogja. It is a community where anyone is welcome to join at any point in their faith journey.
